The business
SAMS Training teaches the Canadian Firearms Safety Course (CFSC) and the Canadian Restricted Firearms Safety Course (CRFSC), the courses you need before you can apply for a PAL or RPAL. It is run by a retired Canadian Armed Forces Master Corporal with more than 23 years of service.
What SAMS needed
The old Squarespace site barely mentioned the owner's military background, which is the main reason students pick SAMS. Course details were hard to compare, and the site, the domain and the booking were tied together in ways that made any change risky. SAMS wanted a clearer site, the same online booking students already used, and everything in the owner's own name.
What we built
- An 8-page site: home, courses, about, FAQ, resources, registration, contact and a privacy policy.
- A courses page that compares the PAL and RPAL courses side by side.
- Online booking through the scheduling tool SAMS already used, so nothing changed for students.
- An about page built around the owner's service record.
- Redirects from every old Squarespace address, so existing Google results and bookmarks still land on the right page.
- The domain moved into the owner's name, and email set up at the business's own domain.
How it went
SAMS signed on in July 2026. We built the new site, moved the domain and email over in stages so bookings never stopped, and then switched samstraining.ca to the new site. It's now live on its own domain.
